“Women’s Forum” a Yangon: Dassu’ in Myanmar

Deputy Foreign Minister Marta Dassù will be in Myanmar today for the “Women’s Forum” in Yangon and other political meetings with the Burmese government. The deputy minister will meet with Aung San Suu Kyi to discuss the county’s democratic transition, and her visit will continue with Minister for Foreign Affairs Wunna Maung Lwin and Minister for the Office of the President for the Economy Soe Thein, and is aimed at strengthening support for the democratic transition under way and bolstering relations between Italy and Burma. In April of this year the European Union lifted its sanctions against that country.
