Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini met at the foreign ministry in Rome today with French secretary of state for European affairs Harlem Désir, to whom she illustrated the priorities that the Italian EU presidency has set for the second half of 2014. The French secretary expressed agreement on European policies aimed at growth and increased investments in production and youth employment. The two also shared views on neighbourhood policies, stronger reception and border management policies, and prospects for enlargement to the Western Balkans and the greater interaction of European foreign and defence policies, looking also toward synergies between the EU and NATO.
