Under-Secretary Mario Giro hails definitive accord on Panama Canal

Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Mario Giro expressed his satisfaction with the accord signed by the Panama Canal authorities and the Grupo Unido por el Canal consortium, in which Salini Impregilo has a 40% share. The accord sanctions the contents of a memorandum of understanding signed in March 2014, and provides for completion of the Canal’s enlargement by 31 December 2015. “With this accord”, Giro underscored, “Panama recognises the importance of the consortium, whose CEO will be a Salini Impregilo executive, Giuseppe Quarta”.
