Egypt: Farnesina expresses strong concerns over death penalty for members of Muslim Brotherhood

Italy, like the other countries of the European Union, rejects the death penalty and is actively campaigning for a universal moratorium on capital punishment. The Farnesina therefore expresses strong concern over the confirmation of the death penalty for numerous members of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, including the former President, Mohamed Morsi, and calls for a review of the sentences.
