Deputy Minister Lapo Pistelli has decided to leave his government position and from July 2015 will be taking up a new and senior role with energy company ENI.
Minister Paolo Gentiloni congratulated Pistelli for his work at the Farnesina since 2013. The Deputy Minister has achieved excellent results in all spheres of responsibility within his remit, from Development Cooperation to relations with African countries and with the UN.
“I have strong bonds of friendship and loyalty with Lapo Pistelli, bonds that stretch back over 15 years”, commented the Minister. “These bonds have grown even stronger in these 7 months at the Farnesina. I have seen at first hand his expertise and passion for his work, and I am sure that in his new role he will continue to put those qualities to the service of the country and its presence abroad”.
