Myanmar: Emergency funding to IFRC for the flood victims

Italian cooperation has decided to donate emergency funding of 250,000 euro in response to the Myanmar government’s request for help to tackle the damage caused by cyclone Komen.

The Italian funding will provide support for initial emergency response activities by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in collaboration with the Italian Red Cross society. Initiatives will focus on providing food and essential supplies, including hygiene kits, for the families made homeless by the floods. Aid efforts will concentrate on the communities most badly hit in Chin and Rakhine states and the Sagaing and Magway regions.
