The Italian Development Cooperation has approved a 760,000-EUR voluntary emergency contribution to Unicef for educational projects in Jordan within the framework of the No Lost Generation Initiative created on behalf of children affected by the Syrian crisis and, in particular, in support of the Unicef project.
The contribution is earmarked for the project entitled All Children in Jordan Accessing Learning Opportunities, which is to offer direct support to the local ministry of public education for the development of a series of educational activities. Through collaboration with non-governmental organisations, activities will also be developed for the scholastic integration of physically- or learning-disabled minors and for insertion of school-age children into the school system.
The Italian Cooperation has earmarked approximately 18 million EUR in response to the Syrian crisis in 2015 and nearly 84 million EUR since the start of the conflict.
