Minister Gentiloni: “Great pride for the appointment of Maestro Noseda as Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington”

“The choice of Maestro Gianandrea Noseda as Music Director of the prestigious National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington makes us very proud and confirms the excellence of Italy’s school of orchestration and of Italian musicians. I offer  my heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Maestro Noseda. I am confident that with his great skills he will represent Italy in the world of culture and art,”  Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said.  The appointment of Maestro Noseda for a five-year period, commenicing with the 2017-2018 season, was the unanimous choice of the Kennedy Center’s Search Committee. Mr Noseda will now join the other top Italian conductors currently in the United States: Riccardo Muti at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Fabio Luisi at New York’s Metropolitan Opera.
