Italy’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, met today with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Arkady Dvorkovich, at the ministry’s headquarters in Rome.
The talks focused on bilateral economic relations and trade. “Economic relations between Italy and Russia are still high, especially in energy and road infrastructure, mechanics and telecommunications, but there is still room for our countries to deepen cooperation,” said Minister Gentiloni.
“Several of our companies already enjoy fruitful collaborations, however our goal is to further strengthen relations between Russian and Italian businesses. In this respect, bilateral relations between the two Countries should be enhanced and can consolidate confidence and collaboration between companies,” he added.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for Mr. Gentiloni and Mr. Dvorkovich to discuss major current international issues. Minister Gentiloni underscored the importance of “international cohesion in addressing the common threat of terrorism and fostering stabilisation in crisis areas”.
