“The launch of a long-range missile last night constitutes a further provocation by North Korea which, only one month after running a nuclear test, has once again openly violated the Security Council resolutions, jeopardising international and regional peace and security,” said Paolo Gentiloni, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, after receiving news of the launch.
In reiterating his condemnation of Pyongyang’s initiatives, Mr. Gentiloni expressed the hope of a firm reaction by the international community, starting from the extraordinary meeting of the Security Council convened today.
