The Italian cultural world grieves the enormous loss of Umberto Eco, a master of Italian culture who has helped make it known and loved around the world.
The Farnesina will protect his cultural, social and human heritage of works, also translated into 100 languages beyond Italian frontiers.
To commemorate Umberto Eco’s artistic legacy, the Farnesina has decided to have its network of 80 Italian Institutes of Cultures organise events through 2016 to pay tribute to Italy’s celebrated intellectual. Conferences and events dedicated to the wide repertoire of his works will be promoted in every city where an Italian institute of Culture operates. The events will see the participation of local cultural personalities who knew and appreciated him.
