Minister Gentiloni welcomes Foreign Minister of Paraguay Loizaga

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, welcomed the Foreign Minister of Paraguay, Eladio Loizaga, at the Farnesina today.
The dignitaries highlighted the excellent bilateral relations, especially from an economic standpoint due to the recent major investment Italy made in the cement industry, thus ranking among the top investors in Paraguay. “Bilateral economic relations can be further developed, especially in the energy sector and in infrastructure,” said Minister Gentiloni, reiterating the interest Italian businesses have in the Paraguayan market.
Mr Gentiloni and Mr Loizaga also emphasised the concern they share in developing bilateral actions in the field of training for the fight against corruption and organised crime.
The meeting was also an occasion to provide an overview on regional and multilateral issues. Both dignitaries underlined that they see the EU-Mercosur Agreement as an important milestone.
