The Farnesina confirms hostages freed in Libya

The Farnesia confirms that two Italian Conicos workers, Danilo Calonego and Bruno Cacace, and a Canadian citizen, Frank Poccia, who had been kidnapped in Libya, were freed during the night in the southern part of the country. They were returned to Italy on a special flight in the early hours of this morning. The release of the hostage was made possible thanks to the efficient collaboration of the local Libyan authorities.  Calonego, Cacace and Poccia were seized on 19 September in Ghat when an armed group blocked their vehicle in the vicinity of the construction yard where they were working.
