Anniversary of Giulio Regeni: Alfano: “A sad day for Italians and for our country”

To mark the anniversary of the tragic killing of Giulio Regeni, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, has promoted some initiatives to remember him, wishing to express to the family of Mr Regeni a feeling of sincere solidarity and closeness, on his behalf and that of the government, on the path towards revealing the truth.

Minister Alfano: “Tomorrow is a day of profound sadness for Italy and for us all, because it is the anniversary of the death of Giulio Regeni. To commemorate him, I have decided to promote some initiatives meant to remember him: the personnel of the Embassy will observe a minute of silence. Additionally, his photograph and a text narrating his life will be published on the website of our Embassy and on the Farnesina’s site. It is a sign of attention, but above all of affection.”
