Exchanges of networks and strategies for the promotion of language and culture in the world, within the framework of the common European cultural dimension, were the topics of the meeting between the directors of the Goethe Institut and the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which took place for the first time today in Rome. The German delegation, led by the Secretary General of the Goethe Institut, Johannes Ebert, together with the Italian delegation and Director General, Vincenzo De Luca, laid the foundation for pursuing even further the positive experiences of cooperation already established between the Goethe Institut and Italian Cultural Institutes around the world. Priority was given to cultural issues. The Italian representatives presented a plan to enhance the promotion of Italian language and culture in the world, launched within the framework of this year’s strategy, ‘Living the Italian Style’. The issue of cultural networks in Italy and in Germany was also on the agenda, with a special focus on development in interesting areas from a geographical standpoint for both countries.
