Meeting between Minister Alfano and his Serbian counterpart

“Bilateral Italian-Serbian relations are excellent. Italy is one of Serbia’s main economic partners, and its biggest international investor. At European level, Italy firmly supports the path taken by Belgrade towards European integration, and admires its determination and commitment in pursuing the membership process. We know that this has often involved difficult decisions and the courage to implement the reforms necessary in all areas of the Community Acquis, and also to successfully pursue political dialogue with Pristina”.

This was the statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano in his meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, Ivica Dacic, on the fringes of the OSCE MED Ministerial Conference. In addition to bilateral relations and the path taking Belgrade closer to EU membership, the ministers also dwelt on the Belgrade-Pristina talks and the Italian Presidency of the OSCE.
