The diplomatic and consular network is preparing to provide assistance to Italian football fans in different European cities for the upcoming Champions League and Europa League football matches.
The Foreign Ministry has drafted an ad hoc prevention and intervention handbook for the delivery of consular assistance and has sent it to the diplomatic offices that are called on to manage the inflow of large groups of Italian football enthusiasts. The diplomatic offices will thus have the possibility to get in touch with local Authorities well in advance in order to obtain information on the reception plans for Italian supporters and assure them prompt assistance in case they should need consular services. The websites of our diplomatic offices will indicate, well ahead of time, all the emergency numbers and useful information on the cities and on the Countries hosting the sports event.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Directorate General for Italians Abroad and its overseas network, thus renews its strong commitment to provide consular assistance to Italians abroad. The aim is to assure the safe inflow of Italian supporters in the cities hosting the football games, in close cooperation with local Authorities and Italian Football Clubs.
