Minister Alfano holds a telephone conversation with Portugal’s Foreign Minister

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, had a telephone conversation last 7 May with his Portuguese counterpart, Augusto Santos Silva, on the case of Aldo Revello, who went missing while sailing in Portugal’s territorial waters on 2 May. Minister Alfano began by thanking Minister Santos on behalf of the Italian Government for the efforts made by Portugal up to now in searching for Mr Revello and his travel companion, Antonio Voinea, as well as for Lisbon’s decision to have a ship of the Portuguese Navy join the Italian “Alpino” frigate in order to cooperate in the search and rescue operations.

On his part, Minister Santos assured that Portugal is determined to continue the search operations at sea for Revello and Voinea with utmost care and attention.
