The Foreign MInistry protects refugees with a 5-million-euro provision to the UNHCR

The Foreign Ministry has arranged to make a 5-million-euro provision to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) from its Africa Fund to finance assistance services for Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia and to support Tunisian Authorities in their efforts to give shelter to the refugees present in Tunisia.

The project to be implemented in Ethiopia aims to support local Authorities in providing assistance to Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia’s Tigray region in assuring healthcare services, activities for refugee children and persons with specific needs, expanding primary schooling for Eritrean refugees and supplying water to refugee camps.

The project for Tunisia aims to support local Authorities in their efforts to give shelter to refugees and asylum-seekers in Tunisia by expanding reception facilities in the Governorates of Sfax and Medenine.
