Scalfarotto meets with the Minister of Investments and Foreign Economic Relations of Myanmar

Undersecretary Ivan Scalfarotto met with the Minister of Investments and Foreign Economic Relations of Myanmar, U Thaung Thun in Milan. It was the two governments’ first meeting in two years and focussed on the economic cooperation prospects between the two Countries. Myanmar, one of the fastest growing countries in the world, presents significant opportunities in the area of energy, agribusiness, tourism and infrastructure. During the meeting, Undersecretary Scalfarotto made a point of reaffirming Italy’s support for the Country’s democratic transition and deep concern for the humanitarian crisis of the Rohingya people and the situation of human rights in the Country.
