Under-Secretary Ivan Scalfarotto attended the Collection Première exhibition in Moscow, the most famous fashion show in Russia and Eastern Europe. The feedback received from Russian and Belarusian operators was very positive for a sector such as Italian fashion, which in 2019 achieved a turnover of 1.4 billion euros in Russia, recording growth in exports of 2.2% compared to the previous year.
“Italy is confirmed in 2019 in second place as a supplier country of Fashion in the Russian Federation,” said Scalfarotto. “It is a market that represents great opportunities for Italian companies, and we are working together with Russian importers and distributors so that the quality and creativity of our products can be increasingly recognized and appreciated”.
Over 100 Made in Italy luxury brands were represented at the Italian Pavilion, thanks to the work of ICE (Trade and Investment Agency) in collaboration with Ente Moda Italia and Sistema Moda Italia.
In the afternoon, Scalfarotto visited the Moscow headquarters of ICE and the Barilla factory in Solnechnogorsk.
