The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to work for the repatriation of compatriots: so far over 83,000 Italians have returned, 2090 from Saturday to today

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 emergency, more than 83 thousand compatriots from 118 countries have returned to Italy, with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, thanks to more than 800 air, sea, and land operations.

In the last two days 868 compatriots from Kenya, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Cuba have returned to Italy. They were stranded and returned with four special flights organized by the Embassies in coordination with the Ministry’s Crisis Unit.

Yesterday evening, the plane landed in Munich with two of the five Italian families who had travelled to Colombia to complete the international adoption procedures and were stranded due to the epidemic. The remaining three families will return on a flight scheduled for the next few days.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with all Embassies and Consulates around the world, continues to work tirelessly to ensure the safe repatriation of Italian citizens stranded abroad.
