The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio, had today a telephone conversation with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, with whom he addressed the case of Mario Paciolla. The Minister expressed the strong Italian expectation that the competent Colombian authorities can continue to count on the full cooperation of the United Nations to reach a rapid solution of the case.
The UN Secretary-General, expressing his deepest condolences to the Paciolla family for the tragic death of Mario Paciolla, reiterated to Minister Di Maio the full cooperation of the United Nations and his interest in the matter.
The interview also offered the opportunity for an exchange of ideas on a collective response to COVID-19 pandemic, Lebanon, and Libya.
