Italy-Argentina: telephone call between Del Re and Foreign Minister Solà

Vice Minister Emanuela Del Re had a telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Argentina, Felipe Sola’, which allowed to take stock of several issues related to bilateral relations and cooperation in the multilateral field. The Vice Minister first expressed the Italian closeness to Argentina, which is in a delicate phase of the ongoing fight against the global pandemic. Del Re then congratulated Argentina on the agreement reached at the beginning of August with private international creditors. The two then addressed the issue of the forthcoming elections to the presidency of the Inter-American Development Bank, to which the Argentinean Gustavo Beliz is a candidate. Ample space was devoted to relaunching bilateral economic relations to recover from the consequences of the pandemic; in this regard Del Re mentioned the significant presence of Italian investments in Argentina and discussed issues related to their work in the country.
