At the initiative of Minister Luigi Di Maio, European Commission Vice-President and Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis has presented the new Communication on the review of the EU trade policy today at the Foreign Ministry, during a videoconference debate attended by representatives of Italian business and trade associations and civil society.
The Foreign Minister has thanked Vice-President Dombrovskis for the work of the Commission, in support of the European Union’s competitiveness and post-Covid-19 economic recovery. Minister Di Maio has also highlighted the innovative nature of the Commission document, praising its approach in line with the growing awareness of European citizens regarding environmental and social sustainability, which are core issues on the agenda of the Italian G20 Presidency.
