Minister Di Maio co-chairs the Italian-Russian Council for Economic, Industrial and Financial Cooperation with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Manturov

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Luigi Di Maio received today, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, to co-chair the work of the 18th plenary session of the “Italo-Russian Council for Economic, Industrial and Financial Cooperation” (CIRCEIF).
Thematic sessions followed the opening speeches by Ministers Di Maio and Manturov. The workgroup results were devoted to culture, education, tourism, energy and green economy, transport, industry and high technologies, agribusiness, small and medium-sized enterprises, and aerospace. The Council’s work concluded with the signing of the final minutes by Ministers Di Maio and Manturov, which reviewed the activities of CIRCEIF’s various sectoral working groups.
Before the CIRCEIF plenary session, the Italian-Russian Entrepreneurial Committee (CIIR) meeting was held. Marco Tronchetti Provera, CEO of Pirelli SpA and, from the Russian side, the Chairman of the Board of Sibur Holding, Dmitry Konov, co-chaired the meeting. The related work was held in a hybrid format, involved numerous Italian and Russian institutional and business entities, and examined the multiple opportunities of the bilateral partnership in sectors of mutual interest. The two Ministers and Co-Presidents of CIRCEIF intervened at the close of the CIIR’s work, greeting the contribution to promoting bilateral economic relations.
Between the two working sessions of the CIIR and CIRCEIF, the two Ministers discussed the main current issues and the most interesting perspectives of the bilateral economic agenda.
