Today, Deputy Minister Manlio Di Stefano inaugurated the X Economic Forum in Uludag, an important Turkish business event, organised by the Economist, Capital and Start Up magazines, in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Ankara and ICE’s Istanbul office.
“Turkey,” declared the Deputy Minister, “ is a regional economic power, and Italy places great importance on our historical trade ties and very significant bilateral investments: more than 1500 Italian businesses are active on the Turkish market and we see a constant growth in Turkish investments in Italy. For Turkey, this can represent a point of entry to the single European market, with 500 million consumers.”
Turkey is one of the few Countries that recorded positive economic growth in 2020 (+1,8%) with forecast growth for 2021 at 6% (source: International Monetary Fund).
“I am certain,” concluded Deputy Minister Di Stefano, “that today’s event is a precious occasion for strengthening economic ties between our Countries further, enhancing the opportunities for our companies and prosperity for both economies.”
