Vice Minister Marina Sereni chaired the fifth annual meeting of the Joint Committee on Development Cooperation. The meeting was attended by the Director-General for Development Cooperation, Giorgio Marrapodi, the Director of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, Luca Maestripieri, and, limited to issues related to aid credits, by the Director of the International Financial Relations Office of the MEF, Leone Gianturco, with a delegation by the Director-General of the Treasury.
In addition, the Director-General for Italian Citizens aborad and Migration Policies, Luigi Maria Vignali, presented a report on the Migration Fund and Antonella Baldino on the implementation of a Cassa Depositi e Prestiti initiative.
During the meeting, cooperation initiatives worth a total of approximately 60 million euro were approved, including 10 million euro in aid credits in favour of Senegal for the promotion of quality inclusive education; almost 4 million euro in voluntary contributions to International Organisations; around 26 million euro for the implementation of initiatives in Africa, Asia, and Latin America; and 20 million euro in favour of the call for initiatives to raise awareness and education for global citizenship.
