A series of 4 virtual meetings for SMEs wishing to know more about tools and strategies to support exports, all available via the portal Export.gov.it
Rome, 14 December 2021 – At its conclusion, the first “Destinazione Export” regional roadshow (promoted by MAECI – the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and organised by ICE – the Italian Trade Agency; SACE – the Italian Export Credit Agency; and SIMEST – the Italian Company for Businesses Abroad, in collaboration with the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces and Unioncamere – the Italian Union of Chambers of Commerce) has signed up more than 2,000 participants. The concluding fourth virtual meeting is dedicated to the regions of Central Italy (Abruzzo, Lazio, Marche, Sardinia and Umbria) and follows on from the first three (the South and the Islands, the North-East and the North-West). Made available by the government as part of boosting the economy, they provide in-depth information about tools and actions that support exports. They are all publicly accessible at Export.gov.it, a unique national resource developed at the instigation of MAECI as part of the strategies of the Steering Committee for Internationalisation.
With its more than 700 registered participants the final live-streamed meeting, like the previous three, will ‘guide’ SMEs through the 7 fundamental steps for starting and consolidating their presence abroad: preparing to export; identifying target countries; planning market entry; promoting and digitalising the business; negotiating the commercial contract; managing risk and liquidity; and continuing to grow. Thus it is aimed both at SMEs that intend to approach foreign markets for the first time, and those that are already operating cross-border and want to give their business an extra boost.
The meeting was opened by Manlio Di Stefano, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with Carlo Ferro, President of ICE, Pierfrancesco Latini, the CEO of SACE, and Mauro Alfonso, the CEO of SIMEST.
All four roadshows can be revisited by registering (free) in the reserved area of Export.gov.it
