Declaration of Intent signed with the Republic of Angola to bolster the partnership in the energy sector

During the diplomatic mission in Angola by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio and the Minister for Ecological Transition, Roberto Cingolani, accompanied by the CEO of ENI, Claudio Descalzi, a Declaration of Intent was signed with the aim of developing new activities in the natural gas sector and to implement joint projects for the decarbonization and the energy transition of Angola.

“Today we have achieved another important agreement with Angola to increase the supply of gas. Exactly one month after my first visit to Angola, Italy confirms its commitment to diversify the sources of energy supplies: a constant action to defend Italian families and enterprises,” said Di Maio.

“It is an important agreement that bolsters the partnership between Italy and Angola in the sector of renewables, biofuels, LNG, and in training in the technological and environmental sectors,” said Cingolani. “Not only a step forward in the diversification of sources of gas but also an important contribution to supporting the global ecological transition.”
