On 6 June a consignment of humanitarian supplies for the Ukrainian population left the UN Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD). It arrived yesterday in Siret, Romania, with about six tons of medical kits (surgical, post-trauma and for the treatment of non-transmissible diseases) and humanitarian supplies. The latter included tents, blankets, heaters for tents, hygiene-sanitation kits and canisters to collect water.
The supplies were provided by Italian Cooperation. They will be used in the framework of the humanitarian response of the Italian OSC “Doctors with Africa Cuamm” in Chernivtsi in Ukraine, which is funded by a number of organisations. These include the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF), a multi-donor fund managed by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), to which Italian Cooperation made a contribution of 6 million euro in March 2022.
