Lebanon. Humanitarian transport by the Italian Cooperation Service to support the response by the authorities aimed at limiting the recent cholera epidemic

A humanitarian flight from the Italian Cooperation Service landed today in Beirut having left the United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot in Brindisi and containing over 9 tonnes of hygiene kits and other humanitarian goods. The operation, carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in coordination with the Department of Civil Protection within the scope of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, is aimed at supporting the actions by the Lebanese authorities to limit the spread of the recent cholera epidemic that has hit the country.
