Telephone conversations between Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani and the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Attaf

During his mission to Cairo today, Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, continued his talks with the Foreign Ministers of the Mediterranean region to discuss the situation in Israel.

Tajani exchanged views with the Minister of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, and the Minister of Algeria, Ahmed Attaf.

The Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed that “Italy strongly condemns the vicious aggression by Hamas and supports Israel’s right to defend itself against terrorist aggression”, adding that “we are committed to a full-scale diplomatic initiative to avoid a regional escalation of the conflict”.

He invited his interlocutors to “work together so that the international community may act united in favour of peace” and to work towards the release of civilian hostages in the hands of terrorists, also by creating humanitarian corridors.
