The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation joins efforts with Cdp, Ice, Simest and Sace to provide quick assistance to the businesses hit by bad weather in Tuscany

This evening, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, reached the executives of Cdp, Ice, Simest, and Sace to take prompt action in favour of the businesses hit by bad weather in Tuscany.

On Monday, 6 November, at 10:30 a.m., Minister Tajani will meet the Regional Authorities, the Mayors and the representatives of the business world in Prato.

“The Government is close to the people and businesses hit by the floods. I will be in Prato to express sympathy to the victims’ families and solidarity with the people from flooded areas,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Tajani. During the meeting in Prato, he will also announce the extraordinary measures taken by Sistema Italia della Promozione to support the businesses damaged by bad weather.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation together with Foreign Trade Agencies, are working on:

  • Quickly activating an urgent SIMEST provisional fund of no less than EUR 100 million to compensate the damages suffered by businesses and their products intended for international trade.
  • Promptly launching an info desk at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation with a dedicated e-mail address: export.emergenza2023@esteri.it
  • Suspending the repayment of instalments on SACE guarantees.
  • Suspending the repayment of instalments on outstanding loans with Simest.

Activating a facilitation channel with the Italian Trade Agency to assist businesses affected by the flooding in participating in international fairs.
