Third group of Italians among the foreigners who left Gaza this morning through the Rafah border crossing

Once again today, the outflow of foreign citizens from the Gaza Strip to Egypt continues. After the first two groups of Italians left the Gaza Strip yesterday and last Wednesday, another 10 people went through the Rafah border crossing today. The Italo-Palestinian citizens and their Palestinian families arrived today in Egypt. Assisted by the staff of the Italian Embassy in Egypt, they are on their way to Cairo from where they will soon fly to Italy.

“After today, 17 people, including Italian citizens, Italo-Palestinian citizens and their Palestinian families, have passed through Rafah and are now safe. Today’s result is again positive, especially given that two pregnant young women and a particularly vulnerable elderly lady are among those evacuated”, commented Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani. “Through the Crisis Unit, the Embassy in Cairo and the Consulate General in Jerusalem, we will continue to closely monitor the people who are still in the Gaza Strip, including two Italian citizens who work for the International Red Cross and the United Nations, and who in recent days have decided to remain in Gaza to continue to help those in need,”, concluded the Deputy Prime Minister.
