The Tender Notice launched by AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) in collaboration with the Farnesina Directorate General for Development Cooperation for territorial entities (Regions, Provinces, Municipalities and Metropolitan Cities) and organisations from the civil society, worth 180 million euros (60 million in favour of territorial entities and 120 million to OSCs) was published on the Official Journal.
As the first operational step of Mattei’s Plan for Africa, which aims to make Italy the linchpin of several actions to promote the sustainable development of Partnering Countries, this tender has the highest value in recent years. The resources will be allocated as follows: 85% to realise programmes in African Countries and 15% to be divided across other Countries, including Ukraine.
The Tender Notice is publicly available on the AICS website – Portale Trasparenza Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo – BANDO 2023 per la concessione di contributi a Iniziative promosse da Enti Territoriali e dalle Organizzazioni della Società Civile (aics.gov.it). To apply, applicants must submit their applications and complete documentation by May 6, 2024.
This initiative is meant to support a quality, feasible and shared cooperation, able to leverage partnership by benefitting from the heritage built together with civil society and local entities, both central to the Italian Cooperation action. The actions promoted by this tender notice would provide a concrete, measurable, and effective contribution to achieving UN sustainable development goals.
