Secretary General Guariglia pays homage to the fallen soldiers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during World War I

On the occasion of the National Unity and Armed Forces Day, the Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry, Amb. Riccardo Guariglia, participated  – together with the Secretary General of the Constitutional Court, Cons. Umberto Zingales – in the commemoration of the fallen of the First World War belonging to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Colonies. The ceremony took place at the Palazzo della Consulta, which was the seat of both Ministries until 1922.

The two Secretaries General laid two wreaths, from the Constitutional Court and the Foreign Ministry, at the foot of the plaques commemorating their respective war dead in the entrance hall of the Palace. A minute’s silence was then observed, punctuated by the blasts of a Carabinieri bugler, to jointly pay homage to the Fallen, testifying to the joint commitment to Italy of the two Administrations as early as the war years.
