At the Farnesina, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Parolin meets with Tajani and celebrates Mass for staff

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, today received the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, at the Farnesina. The meeting reaffirmed the excellent state of bilateral relations between Italy and the Holy See, and included a brief exchange on the latest developments in major international crises.

During his visit to the Farnesina, Cardinal Parolin toured the Ministry’s Crisis Unit and celebrated a Mass for the Ministry’s staff, expressing his gratitude to Minister Tajani and all Italian Foreign Ministry’s personnel for the valuable assistance that Italy provides to many Italian missionaries and members of religious orders around the world.

Returning from his recent trip to Japan, Minister Tajani also shared with the Cardinal the positive experience of the excellent collaboration at EXPO Osaka, where the Italian Pavilion hosts a space dedicated to the Holy See, currently exhibiting Caravaggio’s masterpiece The Entombment of Christs.
