Remaining 6 “Food for Gaza” trucks enter Gaza

Following the entry yesterday of the first 9 sample trucks funded by the Food for Gaza project and entrusted to the World Food Programme (WFP), the remaining 6 trucks have now also crossed into the Palestinian side of the Kerem Shalom crossing with Israel.

The trucks have been modified to serve as shuttle vehicles within the Gaza Strip, enabling the distribution of flour and other food aid to various distribution points managed or recognised by the WFP.

Donated by Italy to the World Food Programme, the deployment of all 15 trucks will be determined by the WFP itself, based on the evolving situation and risk assessment in Gaza, with the aim of ensuring the safety and security of personnel on the ground.
