Tajani with Metsola and Fitto at the Catholic University of Milan: Europe’s role and Italy’s future

Minister Antonio Tajani will travel today to Milan and Bergamo for a series of institutional engagements in the region.

The Deputy Prime Minister’s visit to Lombardy will begin with a discussion on Europe in the Aula Magna of the Catholic University of Milan. Minister Tajani will be interviewed by Corriere della Sera’s Editor-in-Chief, Luciano Fontana, alongside the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, and the Vice-President of the European Commission, Raffaele Fitto. He will then engage in dialogue with university students on the future of Europe, European defence, transatlantic relations, and the many current global challenges. Participation in the discussion with students will offer an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of dialogue and exchange in building a future of peace, stability, and security for both Italy and Europe.

The Minister’s visit will continue in Bergamo, with a focus on industry, research, and competitiveness. Tajani will visit Kilometro Rosso, a science and technology park that provides a wide range of services in support of research, development, and technological innovation for local enterprises. Located within one of the most advanced industrial districts in the country, Kilometro Rosso stands as a tangible example of innovation serving the needs of business. The visit to this important facility will reaffirm the Government’s commitment to growth, competitiveness, and the internationalisation of Italian enterprises.

In the afternoon, Minister Tajani will also visit Pope John XXIII Hospital in Bergamo, where one of the Palestinian children from Gaza is currently receiving treatment.
