This morning the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, had some telephone conversations, first with the Italian Ambassadors in Tehran, Paola Amadei, and in Tel Aviv, Luca Ferrari. Minister Tajani reaffirmed his personal support and that of the entire Italian government to the two diplomats and to the staff of their respective Embassies and the Consulate in Jerusalem.
Minister Tajani received the latest updates on the condition of Italian citizens.
He then spoke with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi: Italy and Jordan are engaged with the governments of Iran and Israel to accelerate a de-escalation in military operations that will prevent the conflict from spreading to the entire region. Minister Tajani thanked his Jordanian colleague for the assistance and collaboration that the authorities of the Kingdom are already providing and will continue to provide to Italian citizens blocked in the region due to war operations.
