Following the repeated telephone contacts between Minister Tajani and his Israeli counterpart, Sa’ar, a meeting of the technical Taskforce on “Food for Gaza” was held today. This Italian humanitarian initiative has so far delivered over 110 tonnes of food, medical supplies, and essential goods to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip. The meeting was attended by key stakeholders involved in the programme launched by Italy in March 2024, along with representatives from Italian diplomatic missions in the region.
Italy continues to work closely with the United Nations, the International Red Cross, regional authorities, and actors within the Italian economic system to further strengthen the Food for Gaza initiative, address the humanitarian emergency, and ensure the orderly and effective distribution of aid within the Strip.
