Undersecretary Tripodi attends Ukraine Conference, meets counterparts from Argentina and Qatar

The Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Maria Tripodi, participated—on behalf of Minister Antonio Tajani—in the opening panel of the Recovery Forum for the Reconstruction of Ukraine. In her remarks, she highlighted the wide range of financial and insurance instruments made available by Italy to encourage businesses to take part in reconstruction programmes and projects.

On the margins of the event, Undersecretary Tripodi held a productive bilateral meeting with Fernando Brun, Secretary for International Economic Relations of the Republic of Argentina. Discussions focused on the Italy–Argentina Action Plan 2025–2030, the upcoming Italy–Latin America and Caribbean Conference, and alignment with Buenos Aires on major global issues.

Undersecretary Tripodi subsequently met with Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. The excellent exchange provided an opportunity to explore Italy’s humanitarian assistance to the civilian population in Gaza, support for negotiations aimed at ending hostilities, and bilateral cooperation opportunities for peace and economic development—not only in the Middle East, but also in Africa, through the Mattei Plan. In this regard, the Undersecretary made specific reference to the Rome Process as a potential vehicle for joint activities to combat human trafficking.
