The Italian Foreign Ministry works to provide reception in Italy for a girl from Gaza with a severe congenital malformation

In recent days, the Italian Foreign Ministry has received appeals concerning several Palestinian minors from Gaza needing urgent medical care, including the very delicate case of a girl being treated at Al‑Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, afflicted by a severe congenital malformation known as a sacrococcygeal teratoma.

Reports about this little patient have also reached the Piedmont Region.
The authorities of the Piedmont Region have already expressed their willingness to host her, ensuring that she receives the necessary care at the Regina Margherita Hospital in Turin.

The Ministry’s Crisis Unit has been working urgently to organise a new medical reception operation, in cooperation with other competent national authorities and the World Health Organization.
The request to include the girl among those to be evacuated for medical reasons was submitted with top priority.
