Return of Italian tourists stranded in Sharm el-Sheikh

With a Neos flight departing at 00:45 and an EasyJet flight departing at 18:30 today, the consular emergency in Egypt, caused in recent days by flight cancellations from Sharm el-Sheikh to Milan and Naples, has been resolved. The Italian Foreign Ministry and the Embassy of Italy in Cairo managed the needs of several hundred Italian citizens, providing alternative return options and facilitating exit procedures from Egypt.

As of today, all stranded Italians have been able to return to Italy, except for a dozen tourists who voluntarily chose to extend their stay.

Some disruptions to air travel remain and consular assistance will continue for those affected, ensuring all possible support for their prompt return, including direct coordination with airlines.
