The exhibition “Mediterranea – Visions of an ancient and complex sea” was inaugurated at Zagreb’s National and University Library. Promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in cooperation with the Italian Space Agency (ASI), Telespazio/e-GEOS and Fondazione Med-Or, with the support of the European Space Agency (ESA), the exhibition recounts the past and present history, beauty and peoples of the Mediterranean through an innovative, unique itinerary that uses images obtained from the most advanced space technology to establish a dialogue with ancient maps and works of art, in search of a successful blend of culture, art and science between past and present.
After the Beirut and Algiers legs, the exhibition, which also aims at promoting Made in Italy by enhancing the integration of culture, art, innovation and technology, has reached Zagreb thanks to the commitment of the Italian Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute of Zagreb and the Italian Consulate General in Rijeka, and will remain open to the public until 3 February.
