As part of the events for the Puccini Year in Romania, a Symphonic Vocal Concert was held at the Multifunctional Centre of Pitești to open the 18th season, performed by the Pitești Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Cătălin Toropoc, with sopranos Alexandra Grigoraș (Italy), and Madeleine Pascu, as well as tenor Carlo Raffaelli (Italy) and baritone Federico Longhi (Italy).
The programme included famous pieces from the operas Tosca, Boema, Madama Butterfly, Manon Lescaut, Turandot and La Rondine.
The concert is part of a series of events organised by the Italian Institute of Culture in Bucharest, with the collaboration of local cultural actors for the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini’s death, which took place both in the capital and in other cities in Romania, enjoying great success with the public.
