On the occasion of the 33rd Edition of the Bahrain International Music Festival, on Wednesday 2 October, the Italian Embassy in Bahrain, in collaboration with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), organised the concert “Luca Velotti Meets Silvia Manco” at the Culture Hall in Manama.

Paying tribute to some of the greatest Italian composers and jazz artists of our time, from Paolo Conte to Ennio Morricone, Luca Velotti and Silvia Manco garnered tremendous success, once again showcasing Italian excellence and talent.

The two artists performed twelve pieces, ranging from Ennio Morricone’s “Metti una sera a cena” to Salvatore D’Esposito and Tito Manlio’s “Anema e core,” achieving a sold-out show. It was an emotional performance attended by authorities, representatives of institutions and diplomatic missions accredited in Bahrain, members of civil society, and the local Italian community.

In his opening remarks, the Italian Ambassador to Bahrain, Andrea Catalano, said: “I am deeply grateful to Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, for the long-standing collaboration and for once again opening the doors of the Cultural Hall to two remarkable talents of Italian music. This evening’s concert also reaffirms the strong and fruitful partnership with the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities,” continued Ambassador Catalano, “which not only supports the promotion of Italian culture, history, and art in Bahrain and the Gulf but also enriches the Kingdom’s cultural offerings to the benefit of all citizens and residents.”
