The Italian Cultural Institute of Amsterdam took part in Spellbound Contemporary Ballet’s international contemporary dance production, entitled “We, Us and Other GAMES”.
After a successful tour in Italy, the new production by the international dance company Spellbound Contemporary Ballet and choreographer Dunja Jocić landed in the Netherlands, stopping in various cities and ending on 11 November in Amsterdam.
In “We, Us and Other Games”, Dunja Jocić reflects on the ongoing digitisation of the human experience. A father searches for his daughter in a digital world called “The Living Project”, slowly losing touch with reality. The performance, which featured an ensemble of eight dancers, took the audience on an odyssey through the digital subconscious, amidst armies of androgynous insects, secret societies, masquerade parties, and a choir of children performing an eerie ritual dance.
Dunja Jocić creates cinematic dance performances in which she explores the hidden chambers of the human psyche.
Rome’s Spellbound Contemporary Ballet is one of the leading dance companies in Italy and has received international recognition at major festivals in Europe, Asia and America.
