The Consulate General of Italy in Bahia Blanca offered an original homage to maestro Giacomo Puccini on the centenary of his death.
A multimedia show dedicated to the personal and artistic life of Maestro Puccini was organised in La Paloma, a historical building in Bahia Blanca.
Professor Enrique Caride (music expert and critic, and long-time collaborator of the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires) presented, through original images and video footage of the time, new and original information on Maestro Puccini, as well as anecdotes related to some of his greatest successes, from Tosca to Madama Butterfly and Turandot.
In the presence of institutional representatives and a large audience of enthusiasts, the ties between Puccini and Argentina were also highlighted, including his visit to Buenos Aires.
The many participants had the opportunity to enjoy a typical Italian menu at the gala dinner that accompanied the cultural event, uniting musical culture with Italian gastronomic culture. As Consul General Nicola Bazzani extensively emphasised in his introduction, Italian cuisine is now being celebrated all over the world thanks to the Week of Italian Cuisine.
